Reconstruction and Landscape design of Lucky Town Square - stage II
The project was developed in two conceptual versions and represented for public discussion in the town of Lucky.
YEAR 2016-2017
AREA ??? m²
The pre-design researches of the architectural aspect of the project was prepared by architect Petkana Bakalova, architect Petar Petrov, architect Petya Grigorova, architect Vladimir Vladimirov and landscape architect Katerina Hranenikova (L.I.P.A.)
The project is trying to show the functional connections between the central town square and the area, subject of the project, by widening the bridge over the river Dryanovska and building a parking lot near it.
Turning the city to the river by developing recreation areas in close proximity to the water.
Solving the problem of parking by building underground and aboveground parking lots. Creating hospitable spaces in front of the entrances of the apartment blocks. Providing an accessible environment.
Incorporating firewood into public works and turning them into an element of urban furniture.
The spaces on Rechna Street – Тhe Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Umbraculifera’ is used on the sidewalks. It will outline the transport and pedestrian movement direction and at the same time will separate the street lane from the sidewalk and the recreation areas. In the green areas, which allow the use of larger specimens, there are common sycamores in the form of ‘Atropurpureum’, which with their purple leafs will contribute to the color of the space.
The strip between Rechna Street and the river is treated in a scenery style. The existing flora, which in this part is deciduous, is preserved (excluding fruit trees) and supplemented with coniferous species, combined in groups and singly.
At the space in front of the post office is situated a playground in accordance with the trees around. The designed fence is complemented by hedges and ground cover vegetation. The steep and long staircase in front of the post office is reconstructed, and several terraced intermediate platforms with seats are formed next to it. The space is richly greened with ornamental tree species, flowering shrubs and ornamental grasses.
